Move Over Phony Resolution, It’s Time For The Fitness Revolution

It’s happened far too many times and it will repeat itself this time around too. Oh wait, or will it? People in their eagerness to get fit and fabulous make a New Year resolution for the sake of it, but end up doing nothing about it eventually. So what is the solution to get out of this never ending loop you find yourself in?  A tough question, but one that will be answered with authority in the course of this article, so fasten your seat belts and read on:

It’s so silly, isn’t it? The way we tend to forget the basic things in life and fail eventually. Like all other aspects of life, a good game plan is equally important for your fitness regime as well. Making a New Year resolution is no guarantee for washboard abs and egg shaped biceps. With a couple of days still to go for the new year, sit down quietly with a pen and book and chart out the fitness plan for the coming year. If you happen to be one of those confused souls, make up a picture of yourself in the mind about how you’d like to look by the end of 2014 (whether you’d like to gain weight or trim down). Depending on that, search the internet for relevant workouts and diet-plans and jot them down or better still bookmark the sites which are useful.

Create a repository of ugly memories

Urgh…. But why?  Is the question that you must be asking? The reason being, ugly memories serve as a reminder of what you shouldn’t be. All those years of looking fat and clumsy or underweight will inspire you to achieve your goal. Setting up those old pictures in places where you plan to exercise or getting up each day and recollecting a memory when you were made fun off in school or college. So the next time you run out of steam while doing push-ups and suddenly you see an ugly photo of yours, it is certain to fire you up and go beyond your expectations. By this, I don’t necessarily endorse the shady before and after commercials that guarantee instant success.  (P.S: They’re pathetic)

Be best friends with the spotlight

It’s a well known fact that people, who are comfortable with their bodies, have a certain sense of ease and charisma about them. These are the people, who always seem to be in the limelight and you aim to be one of them. But, achieving that aim requires diligent efforts from your side. The benefits can be manifold, starting from having ladies swooning over your hot body, to becoming the queen bee of your friend circle, to gaining ground in the eyes of your boss over other colleagues at office. The prospect of such a bright future is sure to keep you motivated for the long toil.

The fact, that you’ve read thus far, shows your keenness to transform yourself.  So, let us make a promise not to fall in that resolution trap again and instead be a part of the long term fitness revolution. Just keep in mind what the elders say “Rome wasn’t built in a day.”

    • You can always join some groups on LinkedIn viz. Diet and Fitness, Fitness and Health Professionals etc. These groups have members who are either enthusiastic or professionals in this field and offer some awesome ideas, advice and suggestions. Hope it helps!
